OSHA has partnered with the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) to revise their Small Business Safety and Health Handbook (less than 250 employees) in general industry.
The handbook is to be considered a resource for identifying some workplace hazards. It is not an OSHA requirement and it is not meant to check compliance with OSHA standards.
The handbook includes:
- Numerous self-inspection checklists that can be used on their own or to assist a company in creating lists specific to their work.
- Links to other websites that could help improve your safety efforts.
Refer to the OSHA website, your safety manager or your insurance broker’s safety manager to find solutions to your safety challenges.
